The Band of the Island of Jersey's last Howard Davis Park concert and marching display for the 2010 season is on Monday 6th September. This is the same week as the superb Jersey Air Display on the afternoon of Thursday 9th September. During the concert and display there will be a collection in aid of the Royal Air Force Association.
Our Musical Director Nick Manning says " This is a great highlight for the end of the 2010 band season, the music in the concert and display will be varied and entertaining, it will also feature themed music associated with the Royal Air Force"
The band of the Island of Jersey was last night named Guiton Group Ambassador of the year at the annual Jersey Enterprise Awards.
At a glitzy dinner at Fort Regent attended by hundreds of Islanders representing Jersey's diverse business community, the band was praised for using it's talent to delight audiences around the world for more than 100 years.
However, very few of the band's musicians were there to see their President, Trevor Rayson, accept the award from Guiton cheif executive John Averty. Instead they were busy helping to record a version of the new Jersey anthem on the other side of town.
The award was one of two community accolades presented to Islanders to mark their exceptional contribution to Jersey life.
